Replacing Carpet in 2002 HR Presidential with flush floor slide

I know this has been beat to death...Thinking of installing either a wood laminate or Vinyl. One vinyl product is somewhat waterproof (Smartcore). Concerned about the added weight. Appears that either product will add 245 to 210# respectively minus whatever the current products weigh. RV currently has a wood laminate product in part of the lower level. Not sure if it is glued?
The other issue is obviously the flush floor slide. We used to have a clear protective vinyl on the floor and it never came up, though the slide did run across the top of the carpet. I think it's a Lippert slide. Figured we would use the Slider Slick product to protect the floor even though it will be overall less in height than the carpet and padding. The other slide won't be a problem since it is on rollers and rides above the floor.
Any thoughts?

This HAS been beat to death! Here is a thread that address' your question.
The search feature will keep you reading through the night...

Your flush floor is only flush when it is out, hence the product on your carpet not getting marked. No need for any protection for the flooring.

Thanks

I see you have the same vintage HR. Did you see any appreciable weight gain in the replacement?

I did not worry about the weight. After removing the carpet and old linoleum I figure about a wash, but at the time I just went with it. I have weighed it after the job was done and note no extra weight.

Have you noticed a difference in noise levels going from carpet to laminate?

I have noticed NO noise difference...there was about 2 feet by 8 feet of carpet in the living room that I took out, the rest was linoleum, so not much room for a noticeable difference.
