rod with nut welded on it?

Looking at the underside of the trailer by each slide there is a rod with a nut protruding the frame. The nut is under tension but can be wiggled by hand a small bit in either direction. It feels like the manual nut that operates the slide. (based on the one exposed slide motor that I have under the master bed).

The view below is looking up at the bottom of the trailer. The Rod/Nut protrudes out of the vertical frame member. The roller is on the left of the photo. The rod/nut is on the right of the photo.

Funny that the dealer didn't know what it was for....he insisted it could not be the manual crank point for the slide since it was so far away from the slide motor actuator.

Of course I am hoping it is the manual actuator for the slide. (Hopefully never have to use it). One way I plan to confirm is to see if it spins when the slide is operated. Three of the slides on my rig has this near the slide tracks.

Looks to be a Lippert slide....if so, those usually control the "retracted" position of the slide.
They usually don't need any maintenance or care, unless the locknut has come loose.

Either the manual operation of the slide or the lift mechanism for the spare wheel.

Operate the slides. If the nut turns, BINGO!

Finally got around to confirming this. When the slide is operated, the nut spins.

Coachman saved us from having to open the underbelly to access the slide emergency crank nut. 3 of 4 slides has this exposed NUT that spins when the slide is actuated.

The 4th slide is the master bed which is accessible from under the mattress platform in the bedroom.

Thanks for the foresight/ease of use consideration Coachman!

Major Customer-Delight points for you.
