Has anyone had a roof replacement? We have a Arctic Fox 33-5v and I am wondering what the cost of replacement is? I had a price a couple years ago of $1,500 but the factory fixed it but now it coming loose again. It is at Northwood plant in Winchester and They will probably call Monday to let me know. So I am wondering others have paid. They told me they will fix it cheaper than anywhere else.

Labor is about 2/3 of installation cost. If they give an installation warranty,(membrane carries own warranty) that's about right. Try searching the net for your subject, you never know what you'll find.

Tom,

Sorry to hear about your roof problems, I had one get ripped back in 2003 on my previous HitchHiker trailer and the estimate from Tom Johnson Camping Center in Marion, NC, for a complete replacement, was $3,987. They explained everything on the roof had to come off and they would re-sheet with 1/4" Luan plywood since the old roof would tear the existing wood when it was pulled off.

I chose to apply a patch instead and it held fine, was still good when I traded it off last Spring.

Thanks Richard, I was just wondering what the price would be. The only thing they have said so far is we will do it at little or no cost to you. I also got the slide problem and they going to do a few more things while they got it. I had to take it last week as the plant is closed and they are going to stop repairing very soon.

Tom,
Richard is right on the labor aspect. Everything has to be removed for the rubber roof, and then cleaned(if they do it right) and it is labor intensive. And then if their is damaged roof boards they need to be replaced as well. You never know what you have until it is opened up.

WE get the fiver back Thursday or Friday. They fixed the slide, new roof, new steps, awning over the slides and decals put back on.(the decals I had) for a very reasonable price. even with the high cost of fuel I am happy.
