I built the parking pad for a carport last fall. The pad is 8" crushed limestone road base. I capped it with 2" of pea gravel to prevent tracking. It is level end to end with a cross slope of 1% (1/8" per ft). It has a drainage swale on the high side with 1% slope front to back I ran 50A service, water, and sewer connections to it.
This fall, I am going to build a 48 x 24 with 14' eves and a 3:12 roof. It will have side walls down to an 8' height. It will be just over 16' clear in the middle. I'm considering changing it to 4:12 to make it 17' clear. I will elevate the piers for the building, such that they will match finish floor elevation, should I choose to pour a concrete slab later.
