We are with Progressive, I have been happy how others with them have been taken care of with their RVs and boats when there was a problem,

Make your agent shop them out every year. Ins companys have no rewards for loyal customers. You will save money.

Yep, that happened to us as well with the Good Sam/GMAC insurance. Attractive "teaser" rates for a couple of years, then a massive increase despite no traffic tickets, no accidents and no claims.

Right now, our 5th wheel (being older) is on our GEICO automotive policy since full replacement value coverage would no longer apply.

We've had Progressive for almost 3 years. Have used it, too... A pole we clipped in an RV park, and a wind storm that bent our landing gear. Have also used their roadside assistance. Very happy.

We haven't had anyone come close to our Allied rates. When we shop it we always ask if their cheaper rate is introductory and with several we heard crickets chirping.

Another one to try would be http://www.gilbertrvinsurance.com/, they deal with multiple companies and will shop best rates and deals for you.

I use State Farm for my house my wife’s car my truck and the 5er.

I blew out a tire in 11 out west on RT80 in Kearney NE, did over $3000 damage to the trailer and I needed help on a Sunday Morning at 8:00 am. Called State Farm 800 number and had a wrecker there in fewer than 15 Mins to change out the tire and get me on the way. DW would not let me change the tire since it was on the driver side and the trailer was on the shoulder, but I could be really close to the roadway.
The agent then arranged for a service repair man to show –up at our campground in ESTE PARK CO the next day to service the drain lines since they were damaged and could not be used. I could not have asked for anything more of an insurance company. The insurance rates have gone down not up on my 5er in though I have had a claim.

We have State Farm on our 2000 29RK Alpenlite until Feb 01....then it will be Progressive. When we purchased the Alpenlite in Feb 2012 I paid $492 for the yearly coverage and didn't think anything about it as I didn't have our/or remembered what the rate was for the 2001 Excel that we sold. When the renewal came in...I was pulling the insurance paper work from the folder and noticed that we had been paying $233 for the Excel. I contacted SF and asked why such a difference and was told later it was because the Excel had been misclassified and the price was correct on the Alpenlite.

We shopped the insurance with an Indenendent Agent, Brightway Ins, and was given a quote of $323 for the year with better coverage. I was also able to raise the replacement value of the unit, because of upgrade we've done, to cover those items/improvements as well. I checked again with SF and they couldn't match the policy...so will be chaning to a different carrier.

Sounds like others are also using Progressive and hope I never have to find out how well their claims dept handles an issue....because that means I have a problem.

+1
I checked almost everywhere and Progressive offered the most coverage for the price. I had to acquire some extra coverage to meet some requirements at an annual campsite (increase holiday insurance coverage from $60k to $300k). It cost me an extra $3 a year which I thought was quite reasonable.
