I'm looking for good information for RV parks in the colorado springs area for a family reunion next July. If anybody has been to this area it would be nice to hear what's available there.

Contact the "Garden of the Gods" campgound. That's about the only park that I know of that can handle a large group. Suggest you make reservations about now.

They are listed in the Trailer Life Directory.

There are several alternatives to Garden of the Gods Campground in that area. I suggest the KOA Campground in Fountain (south of Colorado Springs about 3 miles). They have 280 RV sites, 26 cabins and about 30 tent sites. They have one room and two room cabins. They have a swimming pool, hot tub, 2 playgrounds, restuarant that serves breakfast and dinner everyday and also does catering. They could accomodate a sizable family renunion with some advance notice. They have a rec hall that can seat around a hundred people for a catered meal. They are on the KOA website. Ask for Lynn.

We stayed a week at Garden of the Gods this past June. We payed more for their "creek side" spots for big rigs. The creek was actually a drainage ditch that bordered a raised road that put the road about equal with the back window in our trailer and less than 10' away!!! However, the place was clean, they had a decent pool, and everyone was nice. Just don't go there looking for a quiet site or nice views. We looked for alternatives when we got there, but all of the other campgrounds where on the same road and did not look any better. On the plus side, there is so much to do in the area that you will not spend much time at the site anyway.
