Satellite losing signal...you're not gonna believe this one
We just bought a 2015 Evergreen tesla 3790. We are running dish network for our satellite TV service, I have a wire running from the outside connection directly to the TV. When we go in and flush the toilet we lose satellite signal, it last for about 30 seconds and then the TV comes back on. Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening? I do not know of anything that's leaking underneath that I can see. Does anybody have any idea how the two would be connected?

I am a bit confused. A few more details would help. Are you saying you actually lose satellite signal, or that the TV itself turn off? What kind of dish are you using (actual oval dish, tailgater, etc) and where do you have it? Roof? Are you on shore power when this happens? Does it happen when water is running anywhere else?

You mention the connection is directly from the dish to the TV, where dose the cable run. Is the cable snaked down the toilet vent piping.

Right off the bat I suspect something to do with the running of your water pump if you are not on city. Possible drop in power causing loss of signal quality or something?

Maybe the Rv is moving enough from you walking around to cause the signal to be off until you stop rocking the boat. Or it's the new government rules on washing your hands for at least 30 seconds after using the bathroom.

What type of toilet? Gravety or Macerator/Vaccuflush?
The later types have motors, Some motors (The non-brushless types) are known to make Radio Frequency Interference... Sat TV,, is Radio. (So is OTA). It may be the RFI from the motor is knocking a weak sat signal (Weak compared to the RFI) out of sync.
Another opiton is how is the sat receiver and antenna powered?
Some RV antennas run on 12 volt off the house system... And the Sat Receiver may be feeding off an inverter or Generator/Mains.
My Macerator toilet dims the lights.. This too can cause loss of signal.

Looses satellite signal.
What kind of dish are you using (actual oval dish, tailgater, etc) and where do you have it?
I have a winegard traveler that is sitting on the ground in front of the camper.
Roof? Are you on shore power when this happens?
Yes always shore power.
Does it happen when water is running anywhere else?

No, only does it with the toilet.

Not a bad idea, but no. The cable runs from the outside panel directly to the back of the TV. It dose however run along side some of the sewers pipes.

Does the TV set itself turn off for that 30 seconds... or does the satellite picture on the TV screen disappear for 30 seconds and then reappear?

maybe the satellite system and the water pump are wired into the same fused source. about 15 amps.
try a temporary alternate 12 volt source for the pump and see what happens. maybe the pump is drawing most of the power provided thru that fused source.
ive run into weird things like this, and sometimes they call for weird fixes.

Well I figured out what the problem was, the cable connector where it comes in from the outside was loose on the inside cable. Every time we flush the toilet the water lines would move which was just enough movement to lose the signal on the satellite system. Tightened up the cable line no more issues thank you for your suggestions.
