Silicone has a reputation for coming loose over time, leaving a residue that is very difficult to remove, and generally does not allow use of another kind of sealant without removing that residue. Silicone has it's uses, but not with our RV's. Dicor lap sealant, both non-sag and self-leveling are the best sealants for our RV's in my opinion. I have discovered another sealant brand(can't remember name now) that has the same qualities as Dicor, plus has a stretch factor of 300% before losing its sealing qualities.
