silicone for holes

I bought a trailer that had after market outdoor speakers installed and the previous owner drilled holes from outside in and used silicone to seal the holes for the mounts and the wires. They work great but the seal is getting stretched out on the seal around the speaker wires. Does anyone have any idea on what to use to seal that up good?

I have had good luck with 3M marine 5200 sealant. It seem's to work on many surfaces and materials.

The problem lies in the fact that little will properly adhere to any surface that has silicone residue remaining. There is a commercial product that will remove silicone residue, it's spendy though. Dicor lap sealant, non-sagging, should work_if you can remove the silicone residue. Silicone has it's uses, but not around RV's.

Yeah, it sure does!!, but don't try and remove anything you have sealed using 5200. Whatever it is it will likely be damaged.
