Slide Gears stripping

I have a 2008 Carriage Carri Lite 36SBQ, 2 years ago I had to have the gears replaced on my dining room slide. They have stripped again and need to be replaced. I recall reading something in the past where someone installed a shaft bearing support to the installation thereby virtually eliminating the stripping problem. Has anyone had similar problems and what seems to be causing the issue. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

I found that the plastic snubbers were worn and wouldn't let the gear and rack fit correctly together... thus the teeth on the gear were rounded off ... and the teeth on the rack were worn.... and my gear was 3/4" wide and the rack was 1/2" wide.. I went to a local bearing house and purchased 2 new racks... which are 3/4" wide.. now 50% more contact.. I had to order to more gears from the slide manufacturer... and than sat down with a friend we designed a spring loaded system to keep the gear engaged into the rack correctly.... now 3 years later the gear/rack look new...

it was simple to find the rack, cut to length and grind off the welds on the old one and weld in the new one... from what I was told the only other option was to pull the slide(remove) and replace the tube and rack as an assemble...

BTW the dealer only wanted to replace parts... I did the repair with the slide out and feel my repair is much better than the OEM installation..

I do not know who the manfacture of the slides for the 2008 Carriage Carri Lite.
While I was inspecting the slides I did notice what looked like 2 round rubber bumbers bolted into a square housing just under the slide rail. One appears to be drying up and the other is loose, just another repair. Would these be the ones you are referring too?

Thanks

Carriage used RBW Industries for their slides, which is now owned by AL-Ko Kober Corp. they were having troubles with their slides in 2008, gears stripping, not making contact, off centered 1/16"-1/8", and bowing slides. They supposedly fixed the problem. I don't know what they did to remedy the problem. You can contact RBW to get parts and solutions maybe. Or you should be able to get parts from any good rv parts store. I know adventure rv can get the parts and they're usually one of the cheapest priced. My 2 cents if this helps y'all.
