Slide lubricant

We have a cable slide and notice it jerks a little and thought we should lubricate it but wasn’t sure what works best, decided to ask the experts what they use?

We don't lube our cable slide. We too have jerky movement. I think that is intended as ours goes up and over a level change coming in.

We lubed our bedroom slide with some silicone and the product attracted dirt. Now we have a streak of dirt on the carpet where the rollers run when the room retracts.

Sorry we did.

We had an Accu-Slide system on our old KZ trailer. From what I recall the cables didn’t need lubing. At the start of the year I would inspect the cables for excessive play and also check that the sides of the slide were making contact with the trailer wall at the same time.
Cables can stretch and even break (personal experience with that). I would find the manual for your slide and see what it says about inspecting the cables. It might be that they need a bit of adjustment.

Check on YouTube--there are several vids about the cable system. Maybe an answer about lubing, or you can call the mfg about this.
I don't think the system is designed for lubrication, and always the chance to over apply and have stains/marks on the trailer.

Thank you just one more question did you use anything to lube the gaskets that seal the slide?

I went to CW with the same question. As I was picking a can of liquid spray lube off the shelf, a sales associate came by and said he preferred the spray Teflon powder that HD sells. I got it and it worked great.

We have had two with this large cable slide. One we owned about 9 months (don't ask); the current one about four years.
