slide out doesn't retract

On our 5th wheel we have 3 slides. All but one works fine. From what I have been told when you retract them in the top of the slide should hit first then the bottom is sucked in. On ours the bottom hits first and the top will not close all the way. It lacks about 1 1/2". There is no more adjustments under neath. Has any body had this same problem and if so how do you fix it?

Have you checked for debris along the slide seal flange? A friend had similar problems caused by a pine cone.
Have you checked under the slide floor where it runs over the interior floor?
Most slides have a roller (s) under the slide's leading edge; to support it as it moves, if that roller is loose or misaligned that could push the slide up and out at the top.
If the slide is mounted too high, then the roof of the slide can bind on the top frame of the wall opening and stop the top early as it retracts.

It may have jumped teeth on the gear packs if you have no adjustment left where the idler tube heads meet the outside rail on the slide.
