I decided to remove all the stained and worn carpet in our 5ver and replace it with vinyl flooring. To my delight when I pulled up the carpet there was already vinyl flooring there. That is except the main slide out and it just had plywood. After a trip to the hardware store(s) I layed new vinyl on the slideout floor.
Then the problem started. As a test I ran the slideout in and it worked fine. I then started it out again and it got just past halfway and one end started going in and the other end out. I stopped it and tried putting it in and now the other end started going out and the other in. In other words it stays put in the middle and the ends rotate in oppisite directions.
Anybody seen this before and any suggestions for a fix.
I forgot to mention the rig has three slides with an electric hydralic system. I had disabled the other slides and was only moving this one.

When disabling the two slides, did you perhaps change a valve or re-plumb a hose? What happens when you restore all of them to normal operation? Your description sounds like everything operated normally until you disabled the slides, hopefully the restoration to normal function will correct your problem.

Actually Ray it turned out to be a simple problem. It is kinda weird though. Last week I sheared a bolt on my landing gear drive and only the primary landing gear was going up and down as the connecting rod was not turning the other gear because of the bolt shearing.
Well you guessed it the same type bolt sheared in the connecting rod and the rod wasn't turning so the piston wqas just moving one end of the slide back and forth. I am beginning to think maybe keystone got a bad batch of bolts since 2 have broken within a week.
At any rate it is fixed now and I am going thru and replacing all the bolts in all the connecting gear rods.

I've been pre-occupied, sorry for the delay in this post. You want the cheapest, easiest to replace part to fail first. This is the function of these bolts. Don't use hardened bolts or the next item to fail may be expensive and hard to replace. Experience is useful sometimes.

I never thought about it that way Ray but you are absolutely right. I used the same standard stamped on the bolt head as replacements.

That's a good deal, Don. I suspect these bolts are the "shear pins" in the system.
