slide supports

A friend of mine, who also has a 5th wheel, suggested I get supports for my slides as we will be stationary for three to four months at a time. What's with this? We full timed in a Class A with two slides and never had a problem

Many threads about this. Don't do it.
If the RV settles, then the slide is now being supported completely differently than is intended. The rams and RV main wall hold the weight of the slide, nothing else.
It uses that weight to seal off from the outside as well.

Nearly every RV owners manual I have seen specifically states to NOT use supports under the slide units.
