Slide topper awnings

I have one of my slide topper awnings "drooping" is there any way to adjust them ?

I have the same problem. I was told they are self adjusting. Mine usually tighten up once I retract and re extend the slide.

As previously stated, close and then reopen and it should tighten. Good luck, safe travels.

Yes, it's a torsion spring that can be re-tensioned. The little lever thingy on one end lets you wind it one turn tighter by releasing the capture.

New fabric can be sewn up with the original bolt using vinyl coated polyester. I used a product called boat topping from Sailrite. Nice stuff, has lasted well, very durable. Would also consider Sunbrella fabric depending on the locale.

They are not self adjusting. You can replace fabric, or add a turn of tension to the springs.

BE careful and know what you are doing though if you decide to tighten it yourself....


I looked at brand new mh this weekend and the slide awnings sounded like they were rubbing the paint off it was so windy !
