Slideout Roller Replacement

One of the rollers on my bedroom slideout needs replacing. Has anyone done this?

On my early Alpenlite the roller mounts crushed down into the floor. There was a way to push it back up and reinforce the area from below. The later Alpenlites used a block of Teflon 12x 4x1/2 in instead of the roller. That spread the weight more evenly.

I have a KZ Sportsmen, 1998, 2851 XL. It is the bed slidout that is broken.

Not sure the type of system but it has a steel roller about 1-1/4" dia x 4" long. Appears to be mounted on the floor under the bed. Sorry but am new to this slideout thing.

So why does the roller need replacing? What is wrong with the slide?

One roller is laying on the floor under the bed, not fastened to anything. The screws are pulled out that fasten it to the floor. The slide still works but is rubbing on one side without the roller.

Most likely, you need to dismantle the bed supports to get down to that roller, if you can. If not, might have to pull the slide out of the trailer.

I jacked up my slide a few inches so I could see what failed.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try all next week when I get home and see what I find and report back for more ideas if necessary.
