Slider hitch for Superduty
I am shopping for a slider hitch (16-18K) made to work with "factory prep" short box 2016 Superduty Ford F350. I did a search and found nothing. I see one for a long bed which is a non slider.
I need to get the hitch installed so I can shop for an "in bed" auxiliary tank. All of this so we can then shop for our coming spring purchase of a 5th wheel to head north, away from the heat.
I know that you guys know a lot more than I about these things!
Thanks,
Dave

If the tank is In front of the fender it doesn't matter what slider. The slider is over the axle and only moves back from there. Do you have the tow prep in the truck? Or are you putting rails in the bed?

Demco Hijacker Autoslide. I have a set of almost new brackets for sale for the Demco, which fit the Ford factory under bed mount. Demco 6033 Hijacker 5th Wheel UMS Adapter Plate.
Love my Autoslide.

You could look at:
Pullright ISR Superglide -16,000lb, 18,000lb, 24,000lb need an adapter kit to fit the puck system and capture plate that fits the pin box....it has a 0-10 degree coupling angle
Demco Autoslide 13,000lb, 18000lb, 21,000lb..no adapter kit and no capture plate, more height adjustment and travel....has a 0-15 degree coupling angle.
Reese Sidewinder 16,000lbs no air, 16,000lbs with air (Airborne), 19,000 no air. These can be used with a fixed, non sliding hitch. These can couple at just about any angle as long as you can can get the pin over the side (easy if there is hyd. leveling on the trailer) of the truck.
Two things that keep it from working properly:
1.) A wedge that is loose or not fit properly.
2.) The torque on the 3 5/8 bolts have to be checked on a regular basis. Too much torque will stop the pivot from moving. Too little torque with have the trailer sway like a bumper pull.

Pullrite
I have a 2015 Chev 2500 HD crew cab standard box 6.5 long and use the 16K pullrite system on a 2014 keystone Mountaineer. 37.5 long 11,640 dry weight and 14500 loaded. The pullrite performs beyond my dreams or what I would have ever expected it to. Back the trailer up in tight turns like it should and have never even come close to hitting my truck even in the tightest turns past 90 degrees backing it in. It has great reviews that are hard to believe unless you own one and have used it but they are mostly all true.
My two cents and what I would select if I were to do it again.

If your bed is the 6'9" short bed then you could also go with the Anderson Ultimate Hitch. I had the B&W turnover ball and the Anderson worked great with the Montana High Country. Never had it close. There is a 9" offset from the center of the axle. Just an option
