Don't have a slider but do have the Companion. Get no chucking or banging at all. The B&W jaws are machined as a matched pair and are at a tolerance of .002. Having said that we do have a Demco Glide Ride pin box so that may be what negates the chucking. I like the B&W personally. YMMV

We settled on a $$$ and I'll pick it up next Sunday. In another thread a person posted a link to B&W hitch videos and one was how to measure clearance of the truck/RV cap. It involved running a plumb line down from the outside corner of the front cap and take measurement from that string to the king pin. In the truck measure from the hitch out that distance and pivot towards the back window. Well I would make contact a few inches inside the window corner so the need for the slider is confirmed.

Good tip on the string. Wise decision on the slider. Auto slide better than manual. Just don't forget...
