Small puck lights

How do these lights come apart. These are the small puck light approx 3 inch in diameter as compared to the larger 5 inch pucks that pull straight off.

Turn the glass counter clockwise from the actual fixture.

Push up hard with the palm of your hand and turn the glass counterclockwise. The cover should come off. Don't drop it they are hard to come by and not cheap. If the cover refuses to come off you can pull straight down on the entire unit and it will come out of the hole since it is held in by spring loaded wings that flop open and hold it in. It will be tight but don't worry it won't brake. Once out you can hold the can while you turn the glass cover. When replacing the halogen bulb do not touch the bulb with your fingers as the oil in your skin will decrease the life of the bulb.

Thanks, I am planning on installing LEDs in these small fixtures. Does anyone know what LED it takes?

They should be G4 pins. But you need a right angle one.
LED G4 Lamp, 21 High Power LED Disc Type | Boat/RV/Other Bi-pin Bulbs | Boat, RV & Other LED Replacement Bulbs | Boat, RV, and Other Lighting | Super Bright LEDs | Super Bright LEDs
Possibly that, but it's up to you to find one that fits well.

I used a LED disc with the G4 pins coming out the side of the disc. I had to trim a little length off the pins to get a good fit.

G4 is the base type, the bulb part comes in different sizes for different applications.

The smaller lights probably have 10 watt and the bigger 20 watt. I wanted brighter lights than the 10 watt (DW wanted brighter over the bathroom mirror ). So i removed the heat shield and you can get the larger discs in the smaller fixtures.
(Speaking about LEDs)
