Doing some maint today on the rain gutter and installing new down spouts. Scaping off dicor sealer on top of the metal edge and against the roof membrane I run my scraper in an made cut about 1/2inch long. Any advice other than dicor in the cut and enough outside to completly cover cut. Thanks BKF

Just about any RV supply store should have a rubber (EPDM) roof patch kit. You can cut a patch out of the supplied material and glue it over the cut. The edges of the patch are usually sealed with a Dicor-type self-leveling sealant that's supplied in the kit.

I had a large tree limb fall on my roof last Labor Day weekend that made about a one inch cut in my roof. I bought an Eternabond White Micro Sealant Leak Repair kit from RVupgrades.com. The kit comes with a surface prep pad and it was easy to apply. I had plenty leftover from the 5' x 4" strip for any future "fixes"

Hint/Tip: The kit recommends using a roller after applying it to make it bond better. I used a wallpaper seam roller that I already had in my collection of tools. I'm sure something similar will do the job.

The problem here is the cut is right at the top edge of the rain gutter and if I place any material under the gutter to completly cover the cut the cutter edge will no longer be flat against the rubber. Thanks BKF

Maybe filling the cut with self-leveling Dicor sealant and letting the sealant level over the top edge of the gutter would be your best bet, then.

Would mostly agree with RustyJC's comments. Since you are working on a vertical surface, I assume, using a self leveling sealant might cause to much 'run'. Dicor also sells a NON-SAG sealant that might be better for this purpose. Ensure good overlap of the cut and a plentiful bead and overlap of the gutter in that area.

Workshop,

Good point. That sounds like the stuff to use.
