Eek! Assuming the poor guy ever got home, I'm sure he found good a bit of damage.

Yup ! My 5er has those same two little dents in the bottom of it at almost the same spot. Not from me but from the PO. He forgot to make sure the lock arm was in and locked. Got 1/2 mile down the road from home on his way to Florida and BOOM it pulled out. His box took a big hit. Totaled the box. This guy looks like he might of got off lucky. Can't imagine he didn't see this. Wonder how far he traveled like this? How fast were you going when you took the pictures?
Hope they made it to their next destination safely. Thanks for sharing!!

Did you call 911, if the trailer fell off could have killed someone.

I did call .... A little hard to explain to a 911 dispatcher that knows nothing about trailers. I was told that they receive many phone calls about unsafe trailers every day.. They just wanted to know the direction on the road on which they were traveling.

My Jayco fiver is nearly identical to that one. It has the same dents in the front sheet metal (though I am currently rebuilding the front and will bang them back out). The dents were from the previous owner(s).

I wonder if someone played a mean trick on him, and disengaged the fifth wheel hitch lock. I always put a padlock on the arm for that reason.

I have heard of the being done to others.I always take the handle off and put it inside the truck when traveling.

Wow... That is bad enough! But, look how they loaded the chairs - looks like it could shift and pop thru that back glass. It does make you wonder how they could be driving down the road like that???
