Sotera Viatus ST tire

Anyone have any comments about the Sotera Viatus ST trailer tire. A 5th wheel I am looking at has 3 of these, 235-80-16 load range E, 10 ply. Yep Chinese. The odd one is a Noble NB809 235-85-16, "F", and 10 ply. The Sotera are date code 1915 and couldn't see the odd one since in was on the inside and a wet field. The trailer won't travel much, mainly as a "cabin" on the bayou so not really worried unless they are ready to explode.

If I get it I'll pull the odd one and make it the spare, no spare currently, and get one more of the Sotera. Simple Tire has them for $98.

On my last visit to a pro truck tire shop, I saw several
pallets of blown tires. I asked about them and was told
that they were all Chinese. Their quality is inconsistent,
and they are prone to failure. I can not imagine how anyone
can justify the money difference given the damage that can
occur to a trailer or motorhome, to say nothing about the
inconvenience of dealing with a blow out on the highway.
They called them "china bombs". Yours are 2 1/2 years
old right now. Were I you, I would change them out immediately for Made in USA quality brand name tires.

Not my trailer yet but may when the time comes. I'm well aware of inconsistent chinese crap. Looking for comments on this specific brand.

We have some very good ST/P and LT tires made in china. Sure they produced some terrible 13"/14"/15"/16" load C/D and E ST tires in the past. But the product has changed and their not all bad.

Tires like the Sailun S637 ST235/80-16 load G commercial grade all steel ply carcass have excellent reliability record since the '11 era.

Poly carcass Providers in 14"/15"/16"/17.5" ST tires since the '10 era.

The new Carlisle HD ST tire has been out for over a year and has no record but popular with those that use them.

Endurance another new gen ST class tire from Goodyear made in the usa has been out about a year with no track record. So far no complaints.

Tires above are the new gen L and M speed rated (75-81 mph ).

If you decide to use those tires be sure and pick up a spare wheel and tire.

Will those tires make another trip ? No one knows.
