Spare Tire Mounting

I am installing a bike rack on the rear of the RV and I need to relocate the spare. I am looking ideas perhaps install a winch under under the RV similiar to the spare tire under the truck. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks

I moved the spare on my last 5er, to under slung, with a winch setup. The ease of the install mostly depends on the access to the 5er's frame. I got off very lucky as the spare location was optional and the frame brackets were already welded in place. Bolted on the winch and located the crankshaft, done in 2 hrs.
Look at 5ers on sales lots for units with the under slung spare, for ideas for location and attachments.

I bet if you go look at other Cougars, they will have the option of under carriage spares. Coachmen Chaparrals have both options. I'm going to an undercarriage to a customer who has it on the bumper now.

Installation of Bike Rack

Simpler, Weld a hitch receiver below the spare and use the receiver to hold the bike rack. The receiver allows for quick removal and no crawling on the ground to check the tire pressure in the spare.
