Drilling holes into bed liner does not cause issues and is not hard. I would say 7/10 installs I do have bed liner.

I installed a B&W on my last truck; that had Speedliner spray in. The Bedliner material was actually a bit more difficult to cut with the 4" hole saw than the steel. Just keep the speed up and pressure very light.
My current truck has a bed mat, which causes no issues with B&W and companion hitch.
As far as priming where you've cut or drilled, I would recommend doing that in any case.
I also like to instal any hitch and torque to spec, then after a trip or two I will remove each bolt and hit it with high strength locktite and retorque.

I ordered a 13 F250 with the Bed liner from the factory and the factory hitch for fiver and gooseneck turnover ball. The plug is in the bed for trailers already wired and also factory brake controller. I have had bed lined trucks for twenty years and I always get the liner in first, then the hitch. This Ford factory is all below the floor and has no rails. It is the only way to go. The factory liner is neater and cleaner install then any one can do after the fact. So is the fiver hitch setup. I will post pics later as it is the cats meow and all done when you get the truck.i have had the truck for two months now and just got the new Reese 18K hitch today. Thank you Ford.

No issues here with a spray in bed liner and 5th wheel rails. I believe that all makers instructions state that installing over a spray in bed liner is fine, but not a drop in.
I have had trucks with both, and will NEVER have a drop in again, it destroys the paint then you get lots of rust!

WOW, thanks to all for the responses. I guess I will go ahead with the liner, let it cure, and get the hitch when it is time.

I've done that on my last two trucks. Never had any issues.

I wouldn't install it over the carpet. I would suggest mounting the hitch and cutting out the carpet around the hitch. I did that in my 2005 F-250. Later I pulled the carpet and had the Line-X sprayed in and remounted the hitch.

When Line-X sprayed my bed, they removed the rails, applied the Line-X then reinstalled the rails. They did an excellent job. I have had no problems after two years.

I had a Line-X spray in liner put in my 2013 Chevy 3500. No problems with liner first then hitch. Both Line-X and hitch installer recommended line then hitch.

Barefoot68 do you have Line-X or have you had one? I have Rhino in older truck and love it but Line-X shop is much more convenient to me. Why do you say Line-X sucks? What problems have you had?

I zipped the bottom out of my bedrug prior to taking it in for the hitch install. When I got home, I unpinned the hitch, removed it and measured for cuts, made the cuts, zipped the bottom back in and then pinned the hitch in place. I personally cut holes for the hitch legs, but I saw someone else cut for the entire rails. It looked good and he said it made for a flatter bed when the hitch was out.

Had a hitch installed in two Rhino lined trucks over the past 14 years. No issues.
