Stabilizer / Jacks for 5th Wheel

I have been looking at jacks for the front of the 5er,

Can anyone expand on this issue and what is the best to purchase, there are the tripod ones and then another kind

Welcome to Steady fast

I am wondering which is better and do any of you use them?

Do they steady the front or what do they do exactly?

Which ones (brands) do you think are best

Thanks in advance

E

I use the king pin tri-pod. I find it drastically reduces movement that you feel in the bedroom when someone is walking around the other end of the trailer. Mine is an old one that was made from an old automotive bumper jack and I love it. I am fearing the day that I will need to replace it.

As far as the front leveling jacks and the systems sold for that. I find that if I put a little extra effort when setting up and keep the front jacks as short as possible, by stacking blocks under them; it reduces the wobble in that area. The shorter the jacks are kept, the less they will wobble. I use the same principle for the rear stabilizer jacks. More blocks to reduce the drop of the jacks to reduce wobble.

Forget about the slideout jacks. If you use them and there is any settling of your rig after you setup, there is a chance you could damage your slide and/or the slideout mechanism. That is not fun.

I use steadyfast. Makes for a very stable rig only 3 t bars to tighten and nothing to store and haul.

Thank you for your opinions, can these be found at HD or a dealer?

Maybe online may be the least expensive depending on the shipping..

I appreciate your input.
