Step light mod

We didn't like the puny step light on our 5er so I added led ribbon lights on a photoelectric switch. Tied into the factory light and mounted the eye on the rh side between the step support and the cutout and the controller in the top of the cutout. Results are steps that can be seen at night and automatically turn on/off. The pictures are with the lights on full bright and are a little too much. Will have to play with the intensity.

Also added the X braces in the back of the steps to stop the racking.

Nifty re the lights. I'm going to replace the manual flip down steps with electric ones and put Blue LED's around the perimeter.
Flip down steps kept coming out b/w Cheyenne and Douglas in a really strong westerly wind.

Dunnnc, I to have added LED lights to my steps, I installed 1ft of ribbon LEDs to each step. Really makes a difference at night. Also added LED strip, or ribbon, lights to my basement storage, 16 ft to the awning and inside under bathroom cabinets.
