Storage in back of truck

I was wondering if anyone had ideas for storage boxes for back of truck.
I thinking of making my own.The price of manufactured ones are crazy. I think I could make them better anyway. What do you see out there.

I bought 2 Delta aluminum full height boxes and cut one to fit behind the 5th wheel hitch. The cut box has a plywood bottom and makes it easier to remove without scratching my truck box. I store all my tools in the lower box handy by the tail gate. Also the top can be raised with the trailer hitched.

The 5Th wheel boxes they sell at awful prices do not make any sense to me. A flat top works much better and when trailer unhooked I can add all kinds of stuff over and in front of it. I even load my 30lbs propane tank in front of it easily.
Bought both on sale the same day and they have the same locking key. Simply the best for me for the past 10 years.

Sorry, the boxes were just removed from the truck. I only use them for my snow bird camping during the winter. I use my truck for my business in the summer.
The front box is a Delta full size truck box. The rear box is a similar box cut to 10" high with a 3/8 inch wood bottom.

I have a Rigid job box that sets up behind the cab.
Plenty of room for tools and alike.

since that Rigid box is not level with top of truck bed, do you run the risk of 5er hitting the Rigid box on sharp turns?

I would suspect, Happy Tails, that you have a long-wheel base truck? Do you have the toolbox unit bolted down, or is it susceptible to theft? The box, I'm sure, is super handy.

I've got a tonneau cover that slides over the hitch when we're not pulling, so suspect that I'll have to modify a good pre-manufactured box. If anyone has pics of an installed box working in unison with a tonneau cover, it would be appreciated.

This won't work for you then. We do have a long wheel base truck, but the box height us above rails. It is quite heavy, loaded, so theft is not likely! Hope you find something that will suit!

Not cheap but this is the way to go for full time with a 5er. 30" front to back.
