Thinking of going Fifth Wheel
Looking at going Fifth Wheel and e-Trailer is recommending I get a sidewinder due to the length of my truck's bed. Is anyone using one? How do you like it?

I don't have one, but met a fellow camper with one and he seemed to like it. He said that because the pivot point was way back it acted more like a trailer when backing up.

If I ever feel the need for greater manuverability, the Sidewinder would be my choice. Backs and tracks more like a TT, rear of pin box won't hit the truck bed sides, greater flexibility for angle of hookup, less maintenance than an auto slider.
But I've been towing fivers with short bed trucks for 28 yrs, no problems w/o having a slider. And modern front cap designs make for greater manuverability anyway.

I have a slider on my short bed 2500 RAM, it's great and adds that extra room between the truck cab(I have a crew cab) and the nose of the FW.
