I saw a 1929 ford street rod with that setup once.

I know it looks strange but what an easy rig to turn, you could practically 'push' the trailer into the parking spot looking forward, I think it's a grand idea...
Now how to do this with the bigger rigs and tows around today.... ???
Thinking caps ... ready? set? ...think hard!!
(has to do with video in first post I forgot to add it here)

My question is, what happens in a panic stop?

Hopefully, the trailer has good brakes.

That has been around for decades. The add is from the 70's. Look at his haircut and the massive cars in the background.

I'd definitely be concerned about the roof peeling off in a hard braking maneuver. With that old Beetle, it's not likely under acceleration loads.
This video keeps showing up every 5 or 6 years as a "Wow". I think I first saw it in the early 1970s. The 1200cc Beetle had a hard time making 60 mph in less than a couple of days. I dread to think what the performance was with that great lump attached.

In case you are not being funny: ( you might be and i didn't get it)
In a panic stop, duck your head, because the camper will soon be in your back seat!
