Towing 5th wheel

Quick question, if I am towing a 30 foot 5th wheel is it akin to towing a 25 foot TT due to the overhang on the truck and also the hitch with a TT?

I guess I am also asking if the overall length of a pickup and 5th wheel is shorter compared to a TT that is the same size.

So 20 foot truck with 30 foot TT plus hitch might equal 54 feet
The same truck with a 30 ft 5th wheeler could be 44 feet?

Yup. I went from towing a overall tt length of 32' plus my f250cc sb, to a 38 1/2' 5er with the same truck hooked up and I'm only a couple feet longer now.
