When on a3 week trip,tire Traker sensor on one wheel would not work then next day worked fine,than different wheel didn't work,this happened 3 times?worked good last weekend

I understand some models the sensors are mounted inside the tire,
not on the valve stem.

Can anyone give me pros and cons of that type set up?

Any brand names?

I am having Michelin's installed this week.

If batteries are pushing a year, that might be it. If those tires were on toad/trailer, distance/inteference could be an issue ...do you have the repeater? I've had one "go missing signal" a few times, but if I went to that wheel and unscrewed the sensor, it immediately alarmed so it was definately working! The sensors supossedly go into sleep mode when parked, and wake up with movement ....

Sensors mounted inside the tire are certainly more secure, and supposedly more accurate. They don't have to be removed in order to check or add air. ...some of many "pros".

Only "cons" I am aware of is that tires must be removed from the wheels for installation, and depending on how they are attached to the wheel, a careless/unaware service tech could damage the sensor when mounting/dis-mounting a tire.
