I am finally planning our first long range trip and found that North Carolina has a max 35 foot length for trailers. Does this apply to my 5th wheel. which is 37 feet?
This was flagged on my mapping software when I plotted my route. I didn't find any specific info on line as to whether this applies to 5th wheels.

If you 'google' state towing laws a site comes up and according to this information you can tow with a combined length of 60' @ 55 mph.

Might have been a section of road that was limited to 35' trailers, but no state should have such a short length limit for trailers--wouldn't be any commercial traffic...

I did in fact find some relaible info, and the 35' rule doesn't apply. Thank goodness. Can you imagine? In fact the max trailer length in NC is 45', 60' combined. That, and all the other state regs can be found at 2010 Driving Laws for the US and Canada
Thanks for the help.

DO pay attention to the warning though.. Some roads have very tight turns and may have poorly trimmed trees and there is a very good chance that if your trailer is too long and you are not very careful you could either end up with it in the ditch or wrapped around a tree, sign post or other solid object.. All of which are considered very ... BAD.
