Trailer Realization

I've decided to retire my 5th wheel from vacation duty and use it solely for my work related housing needs. I like the 5th wheel very much on the highway and living in it when on projects, but for traveling and vacationing, it's not fun!

Too stressful to negotiate city streets, campgrounds(especially state parks) and fueling stations. The tag along, even though it is considerably less luxurious and spacious, is easy to pull, park and travel with.

I guess my last straw was my week long trip to the beach. Involved a fair amount of city driving, multiple tear downs, moving and setup. Total stress about hitting things in tight quarters. Too much work ( and head banging) getting buttoned up and underway.

It struck me when I got back to work when the guys asked me about my trip. I was glad to be back! The trip was not "fun" at all.

So from now on, vacations will be in my Vantage.

That is exactly why there are different types, styles, and levels of comfort in RV's; to meet everyone's desires. We switched from a 40' 5er to a MH about 3 months ago, we are just now getting used to our new-to-us RV.
