Totally sold on it.! So much better for the trailer pin box and frame!!!
I was torn as to which one to get. If I had to do it over again I think I would have gotten the heavier TS3. The main reason I did not is due to its weight.
I scaled my rig after installing it and found that for my typical trips - 1/4 tank of water and empty holding tanks - my pin weight is 3400 lbs!
My rigs manufacture advertised its empty pin weight to be 2900lbs.
I spoke with Hensley in depth about being so close to the hitches max pin weight especially as I add a washer/dryer later, etc. They said not to worry.
I had a little play in the pivot point of the hitch head which was causing noticeable banging when stopping and starting. I bought a fender washer just the right size to remove the slack, greased it up real good and slipped it in. No problem since.

They are great hitches. We have the TSLB2H on our Volvo. It's a very early model and it still works great.

I have had a Bd-3 for about 3 yrs and you can't beat it to. Keep the trl from being beat up.

I have a trailer saver air ride 5th wheel hitch I will sell cheap. It came with a truck I bought and I already have one. In excellent shape. They tow very nice.

Please elaborate on the fix, I have a little chucking when starting off and shifting gears and would love for that to be gone.

The hitch head is removable at the point where it pivots side to side. To check to see if has the fore/aft play, grasp the hitch head with both hands and see if you can push it fore and aft. When I did that, despite the play being slight, it banged which was greatly magnified when the trailer was hitched-up.
There is a big bolt that goes through the hitch frame that attaches the hitch head to the hitch frame and allow allows it to pivot side to side.
Take the nut off, removed the bolt and hitch head. Go to Lowes or Ace and find the proper size fender washer to slip in the space as you reinstall the hitch head and bolt. I used bearing grease to lube it up. Put the nut back on and tighten it up. The slack will be gone and banging, too.

I think they make a great quality air ride hitch but what I think is sad is they don't make a model that attaches directly to the RAM 4 puck system. for that reason I will stick to my B&W hitch and TrailAire air bag kingpin.

I bought a BD3 a year ago last spring. It made all the difference in the world in the way the trailer and truck interact. In fact, there is very little interaction as it allows the trailer to not react to the trucks movement and vice versa. Our weights are 3100 pin and 15,500 total so we are under the specs for it. I really don't understand why it is rated at 18K as it is very robust in its construction.

The weight ratings have more to do with individual components used in the hitch that the overall design. They rate the hitch at its weakest point.
