Does any one know of a place on the web that features 5th wheel trailers and truck packages? Late model units preferable. I have done a lot of looking but have not come up with a good source. Thanks in advance for any information.

I have seen RV dealers who occasionally take them in on trade. But I do not recall ever seeing them sold as a package deal. They normally would sell them seperately. You could check with some of the larger dealers and ask if they have any trucks on their lots. Other than that, check the classifieds. You will probably have better luck finding a truck/trailer package through a private party.

The Good Sam magazine, Highways and the Trailerlife magazine, both have classified sections with rigs as well as trailers only for sale. Also, have you checked on IRV2's classified section.

Try some of these places:
http://www.rvclassifieds.com
http://www.rvtrader.com
http://www.rvregistry.com
and the "Big Kahuna" of them all
http://www.rvtraderonline.com

Then do a "google" search for thousands more.

Thanks for every ones response. There apparently is no one in the country specializing in package deals. Those I have found on Google and elsewhere are marked "SOLD", so my guess this is the preferred way to purchase these RV's. Big dealers are more than willing to "Match" you a hauler to a rig. Our thinking was that some folks get out of the hobby, others are repo'd, some sell and go to motor homes and some go larger. A package would hopefully be a balanced set up. We will keep looking, our friends have a lot of time to find some.

Homer: You might have some success trying Beaudry Rv in Tucson Az. We were in their RV park and walked over to the sales area and there were a number of trucks on their lot, new & used, P/U's & MDT's with custom hauler bodies that could be matched to any number of trailers also on their lot for a "combo" deal.

I have seen classified in Highways where the truck and the 5th wheel are offered together as a deal.

Why would you want to buy a package? It makes more sense to buy the best truck for your needs and then buy the best RV for your needs. I can't see how some dealer's package would give you the best of both.

Someone elses used package might not be the ideal setup. Maybe it is for sale because it was mismatched and they got tired of fighting it on the road. I know of one guy that sold his one ton and fiver as a package because the fiver was way too heavy for the truck thus the transmission was on it's last leg. He got a motorhome. The package buyer got a problem.

Ken Lenger: The idea is not to have a dealer put together a package, we are trying to avoid that. We are looking to find a well put together package that an Rver has used and cared for. One that has the mods done. One that some one lightly used, but cared for it like a child, and for what ever reason, could not continue in the hobby. They are out there. Our friends have no other use for a truck other than occasional transportation. They want to use the 5th as a summer cottage up North and a winter home in the South. Other wise they would buy a motor home.

You should find such a package on one of the RVing forum websites, classified section. Try here(irv2.com), RV.NET, escapees.com, rvlinks.org, in addition to those previously posted.

Homer; Go to http://www.lazydays.com located outside Tampa,Florida. You can see the tow vehicles for sale. They have 1150 RV's on the site. Plenty of fifth wheels. They sell 40 plus/day in the off season.

If you need to call someone, call Mike Dulysz
800-626-7800 ext 4392.
