Up-scale 5th wheels w/o carpet

I now have a 5th wheel with carpet only in the slide area with a little on the floor to help the slide.

It does not have carpet on the steps nor most of the bedroom. It has very nice looking 'wood look' beaufloor.

I have not seen an up-scale (Excel, NuWa, Carriage, Lifestyle, or DRV) 5th wheel w/o carpet in the bedroom or living room.

I wonder why 5th wheels have so much carpet while motorhomes have less and less carpet.

My DW and myself really do not like carpet...it is so 80's....ugh

Do you guys agree carpet is bad?

Carpet is not bad in our opinion. Some like it more, some less. We also ordered our 5er with less carpet (in slides only, no other option for slides) and carpet in bedroom around bed only. We just thought the no carpet approach would be more durable and easier to clean. The product that was available to us is called permastone I believe. It is 15"x15" squares glued to the sub floor. It is a heavy duty linoleum product that looks like a split stone (has some stone texture). We are happy with our choice so far. This winter should be the final test; spring & summer it was fine.

When we were looking for our 5th wheel, I thought the same thing….why so much carpet??? But, now that we have it, I do like it. It's actually easy to keep up, and my little upright vac works just fine. The entry area and into the kitchen area is not carpeted, so that helps. The one place I probably would not have it is under the table. It's generally only the two of us and when the grandchildren are with us, we try and eat outside!!

That is kinda what I figured. I will have to order our next 5th wheel. This one we found new on the lot of a dealer in Florida.

I have not seen one since and I looked 100's on the internet. This mid-level up-scale wanna be 5th wheel has an 'min carpet' option. We bought it because it had very little carpet.

How hard is it to order w/min carpet

Dogs are really great pets. Dogs on the carpet...lol, the couch or chair are more like it. That is why I think they would not mind no carpet on the floor.

Sticky rollers - maybe the best invention ever !!!

You may be able to special order your RV without carpets. I know we could have down that when we had our HitchHiker built.

You can order a Heartland Landmark or Bighorn with "max lino" which is less carpet. I believe that the steps and the entire bedroom must be carpeted.

I so agree..........I hate carpet. Very nice rugs can be bought and beat.

When time to replace carpet I will replace with good vinyl or linoleum.

Runners and smaller carpets can be washed. Plus sooner or later the trailer will be set up in wet or even muddy areas.

Any used unit I have looked at the carpet was really crappy looking.

To me - I wish up-scale 5th wheels would figure out a way to get rid of all carpet.
