Greetings,

I have a Heartland Sundance 5er and one of the vents in the roof is broken. I was wondering how I know which style I have in order to replace it. There is no fan attached to it, just the regular crank up vent cover. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to irv2.
There are many roof vents that can be replaced with a new cover.
This link will bring you to many of them and CW also carries them and many other suppliers.
Your owners manual may tell you what type vent you have with suppliers name.
The vent will come with hardware for attachment to frame of vent.
Enjoy the forums.

If in doubt, and if at least reasonably intact, bring it to an rv supply store. I bought one at a local place that was shattered by a micro burst.. but the part that was coupled with the aluminum shroud was all I needed to match up the hinge area.. that's what's critical. Then you only have to chose whether you want "Smoke", "White", etc.

There are 4 different hinge designs on the covers. Most RV stores have a board with the 4 hinges on display for comparison. You can take a picture of your hinges and use that to purchase a replacement. Keeps you from removing the old one and finding out your dealer will have to order one for you. This does involve getting up on the roof. Good luck and be safe.

Thanks for the info. I took the broken one off and took it down to our only rv store and they had the right one. They only had that one style so it worked out.
