Warranty work

Hello,

My name is Monica and I'm purchasing a Redwood fifth wheel this summer to live in full time.

I'm not planning on buying a truck anytime soon, so the coach will be parked for 1 year. Even though Redwood has a 2 year warranty, how am I going to have this work done if I don't have a truck. Will they come to you??

Also, when I go to contract with a dealership, can I put those request in the contract? Also, any other suggestion regarding negotiations.Thank you!!

Hi Monica! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

I don't think any dealer will come to you for warranty work. Also, remember that your 2-year warranty will start when you buy the RV. You might want to wait until you are ready to use it before purchasing!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

we have full timed in our redwood for 15 mths. For warranty work redwood will allow you to use a mobile mechanic to do the work. They send him the parts, he replaces them then you pay him and get reimbursed by redwood crossroads. You will have to pay for the service charge for the mechanic to come out. To me this is a small price compared to unhooking everything making it ready to travel and then haul it 150 miles to the nearest dealer and be without the rv while being repaired. When negotiating 30% of MSRP or window sticker price is fairly normal. Also if you are unfamiliar with RV's take someone with knowledge with you to do the PDI prior to taking the unit home. if any problems are found do not sign the paperwork until repaired to your satisfaction
