Water Damage Repair

As posted prior I have some water damage under a window in my living room slide. My schedule of honey does is down so now is a good time for the repair. I have some panel damage. Damage is localized to below one window about 2'x3' area. I have removed the covering and a layer of wood over most of the damage area. What is left is a very thin layer of wood over styrofoam insulation. My main question is what are my options for repacement. If I remove both windows can I replace the complete wall interior and even change the thickness by a fraction. Will a change in wall thickness effect the window in the remount ? What materials others have chosen. I would like to go with an thin wood paneling and stain the interior. Thanks in advance for all views and replies. Keep the dust on your boot. BKF

My advice would be to leave the original wall sections alone. The wall was manufactured by a vacuum bonding type of technique where the outside fiberglass, styrofoam, and thin wood piece are bonded under vacuum or pressure. They provde the structural strength in your wall. I would think you should be able to remove the windows, and check the frame thickness to insure you can add some form of thin panelling or veneer. The other option might be to wallpaper the interior wall atfer you get the leaks fixed. Good luck
