While sanitizing my water system, I pushed in on the water inlet check valve white plastic center pin, while my pump was on. High pressure water came out and when I released the pin it kept blowing water.

I turned off the pump and tried to reseat the valve by pushing it in several times. When I turned the pump back on the inlet was still blowing lots of water.

Did I trash the check valve or is there a way to reseat it?

Thanks,
Joe

It is not likely that you broke the check valve. There is probably something stuck on the seal. Try hooking up the city water supply, turn it on then open a faucet or two for a few seconds. Disconnect and try your water pump again. This may happen periodically. I have seen very few of them actually fail. If it does need replacement it's a relatively easy job.

A few years back, I did the same thing, with the same result. I never could get it to completely seal, so replaced the valve. (easy inexpensive replacement).

Hi Joe
Next time you sanitize, press check valve IN when the water system is DEPRESSURIZED..
Have another person turn the water pump ON while you hold the the check valve IN...
After water flows out of valve, turn pump OFF and release the check valve after system is DEPRESSURIZED..
I follow this procedure when winterizing to get antifreeze into outlet water line
