You are going to have a real problem getting what you want with the quality you are used to in the Airstream. By the way, have you priced a Bambi lately?
Possibly you might check with DRV (Mobile Suites) and see how they fit your needs, then go looking for the dually.
I have seen some new trailers with a 2nd bedroom for kids.

Bambi in the woods

Joe thanks for the reply. I looked at the MSRP of my Airstream the other day in order to know what trade-in or sell by owner would do for me, I was surprised to see a very sizable increase of 9k. The NADA has not gone up on my year 2008, people say you will get more than that if you sell by owner. I will have to see what a bigger truck will mean. I am almost payed off on the GMC, it has been a real joy to pull with and luxurious interior, bed slide, agm batteries to run a Waeco 110 can size freezer/frig. super custom sound system. I'd hate to get rid of it now that it is free and clear. All maintenances were done on time, super michellan tires. And if I go real small luxury 5ver? Will it give me the things I would want in order to change over? I will look but I am willing to bet you can not get king, ducted ACs, a place to put a garbage can!, w/d, and a ready made fold out bed, not an airbed, in a foot print size that will allow the 250 to pull and stop comfortably. I grew up in a commercial roofing company where we continually overloaded all the trucks on a daily basis. We became experts. Broke axles added leaf springs used come-alongs to straighten crooked side walls of beds, our F250s were all tarred up and looked at as big old mules, really beat them up! Before I had the duramax/allison with the speed brake I owned a 3/4 ton Suburban when i first bought the AS. Two weeks later we were on out first trip across country. Everything went fine till we got west of Iowa into the Dakotas and off interstate in Montana. I did not like down shifting and babying the brakes as the AS was pushing me down slopes we only nightmare about in Florida. I do not want to return to those days. The speed brake and the allison are just great but its capacity in the 3/4 ton might be exceeded doing a luxury 5ver. The fatigue factor, anxiety, its just not worth it, this ain't no roofing expedition!
