WFFCO? Inverter

I just bought an 06 Cherokee 285 B+ fifth wheel and slept in it for the first time last night. This morning when I got up and around I noticed that when multiple lights are on the inverter hums like there is a fan running. When only 1 light is on it is quiet. I had no other appliances turned on other than the lights. The power must have went off at night though as the microwave clock was reset. This just seems a little odd that the converter would be needing the fan on a morning with little use but 3-5 lights on. Thanks for the help.

The WFCO converters are noted for having problems (do a search on this forum and your favorite search engine). Progressive Dynamics makes a replacement power unit that works well and is made in the US, country of origin for WFCO is China.

Are you sure it's an inverter? Normally units like that have Converter/chargers.

I've got the WFCO converter. Zero problems. Check the state of charge of your battery with the converter off. My guess is that the converter is busy trying to charge your weak battery and a few extra lights cause it to warm up to the point where the cooling fan is turned on.

I also have the WFCO converter on my 2012 Coachmen. After two months it went bad and the dealer replaced it. I wish I would have thought about paying the difference and having them install a Progressive converter. I have been told that even though the WFCO has a smart charging system installed in it, it is not as good as the Progressive when charging the batteries. The WFCO converter's fan will only come on when needed. As stated before, I suspect that the fan came on because the unit was charging the batteries and the few lights you had on.

Thanks for the help guys, it is a CONVERTER. I took camper in to dealer for a leak yesterday and they said it is normal for the fan to come on with multiple lights on. Also the battery is brand new installed the day I picked up the camper. Thanks again for all the help.
