What Is #1 When Looking For A 5th Wheel?

I had to correct my first response.

My wife’s #1 item on her list is a King Bed. She said if she did not get a good night’s sleep she would be cranky, irritable and hard to get along with. (no additional comment on that!)

I thought her priority 1 was prep space in the kitchen…

For my wife...kitchen storage & frig size
for me...large TV across from recliners/theater seat & easy to reach dump hookups/handles.

Two very different ideas...! All important.

Our #1 item turns out to be all the age related conveniences which make it possible for my wife and I to continue to travel and "camp" as we have for the last 50+ years. We are no longer "pop up" people and would never be able to do this without all the conveiniences from setup, to living in and including packing for the trip to our next destination. It sure makes it a lot easier when the two of us can work together to accomplish all that is required to enjoy this wonderful hobby, which will be more of a lifestyle in a year or two when we pull the plug on the employment thing.

Floor plan, floor plan and floor plan! Number 1 sitting and watching tv straight on, not having my head turned sideways.

DW echoes Clicker's reply, FLOOR PLAN. With kitchen counter space a close second.

Tow vehicle capable of 'carrying' total wet pin weight w/o exceeding ratings

Then floorplan

#3 for floor plan! Had a rear kitchen, when the slide was in there was no access to the fridge and pantry, and I don't think I would do a rear kitchen again if we were to go back to a fiver.

Livability. Unless the floor plan is is comfortable to live in for more than a weekend it will not please you.

I'd rather have a queen size bed that will allow you to walk around it. So often, the king size beds limit the ability to maneuver around the room--especially important int he middle of the night in the dark.

#1 to me is the general floorplan and whether it suits your needs. For example, we deleted the dinette table in order to have a 12' love seat/2 recliner wallhugger recliners facing the flat screen tv.

I'm biased. That said, I'd insist on either and Arctic Fox or Outdoors RV product. The rest follows. Happy hunting.

I may be weird but when we were shopping if I couldn't access the bathroom or the refrigerator along side the highway there was no sense looking at the rest.
