Question What would you do?

This is an odd problem.

I bought a brand new Add-a-Room from an RV dealer on e-Bay for a great price of $300. It arrived and after inspecting it, we found a small tear in the screen. (it could probably easily be fixed but since I was buying a brand new room, I felt I should have gotten one in undamaged condition) I contacted the seller and he said he would contact the factory and would send us another one. Sure enough, 2 wks later we had a brand new Add-a-Room delivered to our door. He even called to make sure that it was to my satisfaction - this was by far, the best service I have ever received on e-Bay. He told me he would arrange to have the damaged room picked up. Time goes by, no one came to pick it up. I called him and he said he'd take care of it. Still, the ENORMOUS box sat in my front hall. I emailed him 3 more times - each time he replied that he would take care of it.

2 months have gone by and guess what's still in my front hall? I told DH that I feel I've contacted him enough, I'm finished. I want to put the damaged Add-a-Room in our garage and if he STILL hasn't arranged for it to be picked up, I would try to sell it 'as is' by the end of the year. DH doesn't feel good about this.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO? I'm not trying to 'steal' this or make a buck but I'm kinda tired of getting in touch with this guy and he just doesn't seem to care if he gets this room back. (and I'm tired of mopping around this big box!)

Send it back with a UPS COD tag to cover the shipping costs. He probably figures that the shipping charges are more than the product is worth.

Send him a nice e-mail stating that you would like him to send the return freight information. If you do not receive the information within 10 days, you will dispose of it for him. Keep a copy the e-mail and in 10 days, sell the room.

It is not worth the freight charge for him to pick it up to just send it to the manufacturer who will dispose of it for him. He is trying to be nice, but does not want to put good money after bad.
