You can bet the tow bar on the U haul truck was overloaded.

This is obviously a misguided attempt at increasing the combined fuel mileage of the rig. He was stopped for coasting down the mountain with the motors off.

I figure the guy in the U Haul stopped & was almost rear ended by the guy in the pickup with the 5th wheel. Only the flatbed trailer saved him. Smokey's just writing a report & getting some photos for Americas Dumbest.

Well if he's going 107 or anywhere near the speed limit - I don't want him behind me - I amend my above reply. I had figured once I got around him there would be no chance of his junk passing me (or bashing me from behind.). Never seen anything quite like that before. I have see TT have the wind side tires lifted off the road by gusts with driver zooming along about 65. I pulled off and sat a spell.

I believe that was taken in Alberta where double towing is allowed but not like that. He might have gotten away with it had he flat towed the U-Haul behind the fiver, at least until he tried to stop in a hurry.

Wink

Guys its very clear.
The guy in the "U haul" truck is operating a tow service without the proper licenses. His equipment is fine.

Improper hitch set up. Multiple trailers have to be connected with a proper hitch and not the load thereon.
LOL, this combo could most likely set a record on the amount of motor vehicle size/weight and securing of a load violations.

The pic is old and has been around the net a couple of years.
