What's your favorite navigation tool

What works best for you? Garmin or Magellan or Rand McNally or something else? I see a lot of negative reviews in my research of the different units. I assume most are user error and some are computer errors. I'm just trying to get a more clear view of what people are using and why you like the unit your using.
Thank you,

One of the best navigation tools is your cell phone, maps app. A lot of the newer vehicles you can connect your phone directly to the on screen monitor. Navigation systems built in to your vehicle also work well, but I have found the phone is the best economy alternative.

Garmin GPS and BaseCamp which is Garmin's Free Software.
Reason: I can load my own waypoints or use those on the net from places like Discovery Owners. I can create my own routes in BaseCamp and transfer them to the GPS. I can also save any of the above for future use, on my computer. I also like the ability to use coordinates. And I don't need a cell tower to use the GPS or BaseCamp. Which is very handy in places where your phone won't work.

I had a Rand McNally and hated it. Bought a Garmin RV 770 and it is like night and day. I love this unit. Simplicity of use and much less errors.

I like to follow the DW's directions. There is no telling where we will eventually wind up.

We probably saw parts of Europe no other Americans have seen.

Google maps for short trips & when we have cell service. Garmin when there is no cell coverage or we are on a day long drive.

Google maps. I download the offline map for our planned route, so if there is no cell service, we'll still have our map/navigation.
Before we we head out for the day, I will check the Rand McNally Carriers map book for clearances/restrictions on our planned route.

Since Google based maps can’t find my house, I don’t use it. When in my car I use IOS Maps and it works fine. But since it doesn’t understand the needs of a 12 ft high motorhome, I bought a Garmin, the brand I have used before. I now have the RV 770 which has built in WIFI so no PC required to get updates.

I like my Garmin RV 770. My most frequent navigator is DW. I can turn off the sound on the RV 770.
