Where do you tote your generator?

Alpenlite 25 w/ carrier built on back by PO. Have a 4kw gen I'd like to mount on the carrier, but am concerned about vibration carrying through the frame. Only would be used when shore power not available. Would it be better in the back of the TV? Does it need a weather cover?

For maximum quiet I'd mount in the back of the TV. Then in use you could unhook and turn the truck around to but the TV between you and generator. A cover would always be a good idea when stored, especially if it's not in a weatherized case.

You could also install vibration damper mounts to use the generator carrier. Having a carrier on the back of the 5th wheel does subject whatever rides in it to lots of up/down motion when the trailer bounces, multiplied by the distance behind the rear axle.

My vote is truck bed. As said, much less bouncing, stays cleaner. A cheap Patio Grill cover makes a good weather cover.
