Winter and 5th Wheel Hitch

What do most folks do when it comes to their 5th Wheel Hitch during winter? Cover, remove & store, leave it alone in the bed as is, other? Would love to hear opinions and feedback based on your experience.

I remove mine. I then clean inspect and lube with clean grease on all moving parts. I do this about the same time I am removing and inspecting my wheel hubs and bearings. It will go back into the truck in Feb when we head out for our first trip of the year.

So a link to a hitch cover ?????

I mean sure I can search,,, but what are you all using and do you like it ???

I don't have a spare hundred + bucks for a cover when I can remove the hitch......

I leave mine in, give it a good lube and cover it...with a cheapo cover aka large black plastic bag. Works like a charm.

Normally I lave my B&W Companion hitch in the truck. When I do pull it, I put on two saw horses under the 5th overhang and cover it with a tarp. Its right where I need it to hitch up next time. I have a fence around my 5th and boat.

I back in under 5vr and hookup then pull pins on rails and lift hitch up using 5vr landing gear.
Once lifted I drive out and re-level 5vr and hitch hangs from king pin.
Come spring it gets set down onto work platform for full maintenance/lube job then back onto rails using 5vr landing gear

My B&W hitch came out yesterday, put on the wheeled dolly and now resides under my garage workbench. I'll drag it out shortly, clean and lube it then put a cover over it (remember, the mice and chipmunks have to stay warm too) then back under the bench for the winter. My truck is now back to being a ..... truck with the 5th wheel tailgate also in storage and the bed as shipped by Ford. I just can't leave that expensive hitch out in the winter elements. It's 7 seasons old and still is in darn good shape for the thousands of miles it's hauled a 5er.
