Only place I'd think to use a wet-vac would be to clean a P trap to avoid diluting the strength of the plumbing A/F , and I'd have to be expecting EXTREME cold to do that.
JMHO: Stick to your plan and use compressed air (30 PSI) and remove the 12 volt pump to store it inside at home , because with no RV anti freeze in it , even running it dry may not be enough to protect it from freezing. Blow back to the fresh tank, from the pump connection, to be sure its drained.
