Wiring of rv water tank probes

All, I am wiring up new rv water tank probes, I was wondering this is of coarse 12v, but if it has the positive run through it and some one is drinking water couldn't they get shocked?

It is 12 v or less. The electricity will take the path of least resistance, which is from the positive to negative probes in the tank. No chance of a shock or even a tingle even bare foot and standing in water.

I guess I am confused how a tank sensor works, I thought that when you push the "test" button, it sends positive current to one of the 4 probes, The other 3 probes receive the positive current and which make the light on the panel light up? So your sending positive 12v electricty through the water tank which pressing the "test" button ???

I found it, negative side of the 12v system go through the tanks not the postive,

That explains why I didn't croak when I stuck a 9V battery on my tongue (I was a lot younger then)
